S. Yvette Haley, M.A.

Yvette received her Master of Arts degree in Christian Counseling and Discipleship from Capital Bible Seminary in May, 2005. In her program she worked with married couples and families in handling relationship and crisis situations. She also worked with women handling forgiveness, bitterness, betrayal, and abuse recovery issues. She is currently pursuing advanced studies in counseling to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Yvette directed a group counseling program for the 2005-2006 school year at Shabach! Christian Academy entitled Foundations for Success, a program for middle school girls. She and her husband are active team leaders in the Couples Ministry at First Baptist Church of Glenarden. They have facilitated two seminars entitled "Applying Purpose Driven Living to Marriage" and the "ABC's of Handling Finances in Marriage." She has also worked with several couples in her church to help bring healing and restoration to their marriages. She and her husband have led a married couple's home Bible fellowship for over 2 years.

Yvette also serves in the Life Builders Lay Coaching Ministry at First Baptist Church of Glenarden and has worked with several clients to bring restoration, reconciliation, and healing to broken relationships they have encountered. She recently facilitated a seminar with Rev. Johnny Parker entitled "Maximizing Relationships" in September, 2006. In 2005, she was a speaker at the After Eve Conference for young adult women held at McLean Bible Church. The title of her workshop for that conference was "Valley Girl" which dealt with women facing and overcoming their valley situations.

Yvette's hearts passion is to see people healed and restored in Christ. She desires to use her training in counseling and spiritual development to help others reach their destiny in Christ. Her favorite scripture when she considers helping others is "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Gal.6:2

Yvette and her husband have been married for 18 years and have overcome many situations in their marriage and life including infertility, healing from past abuse issues, restoration from abandonment issues, forgiveness, overcoming bitterness, and a host of others. She feels that God has brought her through those situations for such a time as this, in order to bring healing to those who are brokenhearted and set the captives free. Yvette and her husband reside in Upper Marlboro, MD and have four daughters and two grandchildren. She is very family oriented and enjoys home schooling her younger children and spending quality time with them. She also enjoys singing, reading, spa moments, and traveling.
