Shereese
Gordon, M.S.
Shereese
Gordon is a native Washingtonian. She worked in the agriculture research field
for ten years until her life radically changed. God called her into the Biblical
counseling ministry changing her career focus from helping plants to people. Shereese
diligently worked within the ministry gaining powerful knowledge and insight into
God's principles for healing the broken hearted. She realized after several years
working in the ministry that she needed to strengthen her foundation by connecting
God's spiritual principles with sound clinical practices. Shereese returned to
college where she received a Masters in Counseling from the University of the
District of Columbia. Shereese has experience helping individuals, couples, adolescents
and children. While completing her internship hours, Shereese worked in the District
of Columbia Public school system. She enjoys working with children using behavior
modification and social skills counseling techniques.
In
addition to counseling at Safe Harbor, Shereese works at Pilgrim A.M.E. Job Connection,
the first faith -based organization to receive a contract under the Department
of Human Services in the District of Columbia. Shereese counsels clients receiving
temporary assistance to needy families (TANF). Pilgrim's mission-in fact, the
commitment- is to engage clients in identifying and developing their God-given
gifts and talents and to move them into more positive and productive life choices,
as they journey towards a more meaningful and fruitful living, which results in
their economic self-sufficiency. Shereese
is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Counseling Academic
and Professional Honor Society International CHI SIGMA IOTA. Shereese and her
