Richmond, M.A., CCD
Shaun
was born and raised in Washington, D.C. and now resides in
Montgomery County. He graduated Cum Laude from Washington
Bible College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies
and Theology. He also graduated Cum Laude from Capital Bible
Seminary with a Master of Arts degree in Christian Counseling
and Discipleship.
Shaun volunteered
at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center while fulfilling
the requirements for his M.A. degree. He was asked to stay
on as a counselor and he continues to work ministering to
men who have been enslaved to substance abuse, those who exhibit
antisocial behavior, men who have sexual issues such as addiction
to pornography, those who have been sexually abused, and men
with mood disorders, such as depression and general anxiety
disorder. In addition to working with men, Shaun enjoys working
with couples, especially helping struggling married couples
reconcile and engaged couples prepare for marriage.
Shaun
believes that in order to be an effective Biblical counselor
it is essential to have experienced the redemption and love
that was made manifest by the death, burial and resurrection
of Jesus Christ. One of his favorite scriptures that reflects
his counseling ministry is Psalm 147:3, “He heals the
brokenhearted and binds up their wounds”. Shaun truly
enjoys being a vessel that God can use to help those in need.
He marvels when witnessing the power of God to transform lives
by transcending issues and maladies that all individuals struggle
with at some point in life.
