Arrington, M.A.  I
am a near life-long Maryland resident, now living in Southern Prince Georges County.
Having graduated from College with a degree in Computer Science, I stayed in the
IT field for nearly 20 years. But, eventually, God called me to focus on helping
with "heart-ware" rather than with software. I later obtained a Masters in Christian
Counseling from Capital Bible Seminary.
I
most enjoy working with those who are captured by the failures that we all share.
One of the ways that I knew that God called me to a ministry of counseling was
the awe that I felt as I listened to the stories of joys and pains that He weaves
into the lives of his creatures. I enjoy exploring the goodness of God with others.
As well, I enjoy sharing the demonstrations of His power in the lives of others.
I
have great experience working with drug and alcohol addictions and marital counseling.
Related to addictions, I have led support groups as well as one-on-one counseling,
and I have extensive experience counseling men in this area. Included in that
experience is counseling those men struggling with pornography or other related
lust issues.
When providing support to couples, I have helped with recovery from infidelity,
provided pre-marital counseling and I have also provided support for those returning
to their families after periods of estrangement. With these issues, as with others,
I have found that forgiveness is a key component that must be addressed. I also
have experience with cultural diversity, conflicts and resolution. I
know that God is most concerned with the spiritual and emotional heart and its
health. Too often, we can focus on other things, not knowing that these distractions
also eventually disaffect our hearts. Many times, we find that our problems come
down to matters of the heart. |
