D. Adeniyi, M.A., LCPC
Life is a journey. Sometimes the road is clear and straight. Sometimes it is full
of twists and bends. Our journeys take us through valleys and over mountains.
Even though God is with us, sometimes the journey can feel very lonely. It has
been said that a counselor comes along side for a portion of the journey and helps
the traveler see God's navigation plan for the twists and turns.
For Cyndy Adeniyi, the journey led into the counseling field when she obtained
a master's degree in Counseling Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. The next stop in the journey was Philadelphia
where she began working with children in foster care and their families. This
experience offered her experience working with children, teens, and adults with
attachment issues, ADHD, trauma, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, and stress
management. The
journey next led Cyndy to Southern Maryland where she began working with juvenile
delinquents and their parents. There she gained increased experienced in the areas
of defiant youth, addictions, and career development. Cyndy
is also on the path towards Maryland licensure and is completing course requirements
presently. She is a student at Southern Christian University and pursuing a doctorate
degree. On
the weekends, you can find Cyndy playing in the mud (gardening), serving time
at the local jail (as a volunteer worship leader), or caring for her "baby" (a
pet turtle). |
